Lumen is a smart digital journal. A couple years ago, I would find myself writing in a journal, then sharing those entries with ChatGPT to reflect on them. I wanted to simplify that process by combining them into one experience.
It's taken many shapes and forms since I first started on it...I've added and removed features countless times and even today I'm still not 100% sure where I want to go with it, but I think journals are an unrivaled source of personal context for AI companions.
My vision with this is to build a strong foundation for a system that can serve users in many other ways. Like my other app, Fable, a lot of the work is context engineering - analyzing entries, juggling all of that data, and turning it into meaningful insights and interactions.
Ultimately, I want to build something that feels alive and like an extension of the user.
